Wild Turkey Day

This Thanksgiving year was different from all the other years, because I was not able to travel to see all my family members. So it got me thinking about what I can do to make this one special. I wanted to find a way to have my small family to also have a big event. Thanksgiving does not invole religion which makes it special for everyone in America to celebrate. Maximus might be too young to remember by memory but through the pictures and the stories I write about, he will know about his wild turkey day! And wild turkey day it was! It all started when I found the turkey costume, I couldn't resist getting the whole family into character, because it made it even more comical.
The day started by getting ready and catching the metro train to down town Chicago where we started our adventure towards the Chicago's Thanksgiving Day parade. As we arrived on state street, the crowd was already too large so we had  to wiggle our way into a good spot where we could see everything happening in the parade. Maximus loved the music of the marching band and loved the giant balloons floating over. It was well worth it to see the parade in person. So many people commented on the costumes saying that it gives off the Thanksgiving Day spirit feeling! I am glad.
Well we made it back home and started cooking. As we cooked we listened to a playlist of music I created ahead of time just for Thanksgiving Day.. 'got to rattle those pot and pans' ;) We ended our night with a well deserved feast and a movie. I hope next year turns out as fun as this one did!
